
TU2009 will be held in Baotou, September 2-6 2009. The City of Baotou is located north of the Yellow River and not too far from the famous Mausoleum of Genghis Khan. It is the largest industrial city in the Province of the Inner Mongolia in China, a pleasant modern city with scenes of beautiful grassland and with a number of historical and cultural sights. This city has earned many honorary titles and awards such as the Chinese Garden City and the UN-Habitat award, and was nominated in 2008 as China’s most well-being city.
TU2009 aims at providing an international forum for researchers, designers, policy makers and business people to present and discuss the state of art in research, technology development for the utilization of thorium including:
· Nuclear fuel cycle strategy and technology roadmap;
· Reactor physics and concept, as well as fuel management
· Reactor design including thermal hydraulics and control
· Nuclear facility safety and economics
· Materials and processing
· Utilization of thorium in other areas
